Our Percy & Pop Strawberry Shampoo bar is Allergen-Free

  • What is Sodium Coco Isethionate?

Sodium Coco Isethionate is a very gentle, coconut-derived surfactant. Surfactants are the cleansing agents within the shampoo which make it really effective in lifting dirt and excess oil from your hair. Sodium Coco Isethionate is gentle enough for very sensitive skin and is also what helps create our beautifully bubbly lather!

    What is Cetearyl Alcohol?

Cetearyl Alcohol stabilises and bind all the ingredients in our shampoo bars. It is non-drying, non-irritant and has the added benefit of helping to soften hair and skin. Cetearyl alcohol is derived from palm oil so we only ever use cetearyl alcohol which we can trace back to sustainable sources.

    What is Stearic Acid?

Stearic Acid is a natural component of cocoa butter and shea butter. It helps to soften and condition the hair adding shine without weighing it down. It also has skin-moisturising properties. There is evidence that products containing stearic acid can help to reduce eczema symptoms and reduce skin inflammation.

    What is Cocamidopropyl Betaine?

Cocamidopropyl Betaine is the second of the two surfactants found in our shampoo bars (the first being Sodium Coco Isethionate). This cleansing agent is also very gentle, coconut-derived and enhances our foamy lather!

What is Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil?

Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil is more commonly known as Argan Oil. It is really moisturising for both hair and scalp, can reduce hair breakage and split ends and gives hair added heat protection from hair dryers and straighteners. Argan Oil is also great for your skin as it is hydrating and enhances the skin’s natural oil barrier. It’s also rich in vitamin E which helps to reduce UV damage.

What is Sodium Cococyl Apple Amino Acids?

Sodium Cococyl Apple Amino Acid is a gentle foaming and cleansing agent that both cleanses and hydrates the skin and hair.

    What is Glycerin?

We use vegetable-derived glycerin which is non-irritating and conditions hair and hydrates your skin. Glycerin also helps to lock in moisture and protect against UV damage and other environmental irritants.

What is Ricinus Communis Seed Oil?

This is more commonly known as castor oil. It is a vegetable oil which moisturises and smooths hair, preventing split ends and breakages. It also has antibacterial properties which helps to promote scalp health.

What are Sodium Levulinate and Sodium Anisate?

These are naturally occurring preservatives which have antimicrobial properties to prevent harmful bacteria from growing on our bars when they are sitting in your bathroom. They also help us to maintain the pH of our bars so they are gentle on little ones. Sodium Levulinate is great for hydrating and softening hair and skin.

    What are Panthenol and Pantolactone?

Panthenol is also known as Vitamin B5. We use it because it adds shine, softness and strength to hair and also helps to lock in moisture. We also use Pantolactone for added moisturising and skin conditioning benefits.

    What are CI Numbers?

CI Numbers refer to the colours used within cosmetic products. Our shampoo bars are coloured using mica because it is gentle and skin-safe. It also allows us to create our bars in colours kids love. Mica occurs naturally however, the mining of mica is very controversial. For this reason, we choose to use synthetic mica in our products. Synthetic mica is made in a lab but is identical to natural mica. If we ever use natural mica it would only be from certified sustainable sources.
